So, due to what I'm going to call a last minute change in the rules (what she said was a "abnormal event"), the 29 Palms trip is "nullified":

Total reimbursements "unreimbursed": -$129.60
Total expenses "unexpended": $32.00 (320 miles at 25 miles per gallon at $2.50 per gallon)

Apparently, in theory. . .I should be charging for gas up to San Jose. *sigh*. . .Given the fact that she's always right, I guess this is somewhat reasonable (of course, in the process of writing this, I realize that within 5 minutes of it being read by my captive audience, I'll probably end up with two twenties in my hand). I tried to make the argument that any money that I receive for the trip would have been spent on food to sustain myself that weekend, and I probably wouldn't have gone up (or would have taken my parent's offer at a plane ticket, at no charge to me) if I had known that the 29 Palms trip was nullified, but as always with me and my perspective when talking with her, it came out all wrong. . .

The cats are gone. It's sad. As they were leaving, the question of Ralph's future came up between the owners. I tried to express the sentiment that I enjoyed him (I did, even though he is a greasy, shedding, hiding cat. . .he has personality when he comes out, and his face is so adorable), but I wasn't going to say "I want that cat" because I should pass it by my roommate first, and then there's the whole process of getting him and Chaucer on good terms (which may or may not work). And, they're indoor cats, a bit more maintenance than I'm used to. Oh, well. . .

Work is going to go really late today. Oh, well. It happens. The weekend is coming up. Yay for CIT/JPL trip to the beach. . .*sigh*. . .and for asking people for money that I normally wouldn't concern myself with. . .
